Magic: The Gathering Tournament
Knights from near and far in the Bay Area had a “magical” evening at our first Magic: The Gathering Charity Tournament on August 28th! Our Knighted Planeswalkers, both experienced and completely new, took part in a Swiss Format Booster Draft, making their own decks on-the-spot to battle each other through four rounds in four separate groups. Winners from each group headed to the semifinals in hopes of becoming the tournament champion of the final round.
The night was a success! Our Knights enjoyed eating tons of pizza, making new friends, and winning awesome raffle prizes. On top of all of this fun, we were also able to give back to children in need, raising money for UC Davis Children’s Hospital! Utilizing the Extra Life Organization which helps gamers put their passions toward a cause, we were able to raise over $1,000 for children’s health and amenities.
A special congratulations to the winner of our tournament, Cody Evango, and an extra special thank you to Jim Stewart and Louis O’Neil from Napa Casino for making the event a possibility! This was our first official Random Acts of Knightness event and it went off without a hitch. Thanks also to Outflank Games and Wyrwood: Quality Gaming Supplies for the amazing prizes they donated! We can’t wait to cast spells in the Sacramento and SoCal regions!
